Adventure Travel

Depending on where you live, you may need to travel to get to the adventure you are after. This is known as adventure travel.  It really comes down to the adventure you are seeking, and how much you want to complete it. You can have an adventure by plane, boat, hovercraft, submarine, motorbike and various other ways.

I still remember the first time I flew in an aero plane. It was a very unusual adventure travel experience, but I enjoyed it. Imagine taking to the skies in a small aerobatic plane, doing back flips and corkscrews. Maybe that’s too much of an adrenaline adventure travel for you, and you would rather just go for a walk in the bush.

Most islands which are an adventure to visit require a trip on a boat, whether it is a small one or a larger ferry. Boating is a great form of Adventure travel, and is something that I enjoy frequently. I only have a small boat with an old motor on it, but I still get out and enjoy nature regularly. We go fishing, snorkeling, crabbing and skiing. A boat really opens up the variety of adventure that you can have.

In areas such as Ningaloo Reef and The Great Barrier Reef, there are many tours which can take place in glass bottom boat, to view the reef. This is a great adventure in itself, regardless of whether you have been in a boat or not. Adventure travel includes adventure tours, which are common throughout the world, and provide an amazing overview of areas of natural beauty. Not only is it a travel adventure to get into a boat, but to see the coral and fish life beneath you in crystal clear waters is simply amazing.

To have a successful adventure travel, it needs to be enjoyable from all aspects. This means that if the need arises to sleep a night, the accommodation needs to be comfortable and suitable for the conditions. Your adventure travel is easily ruined by poor organization of equipment that you need for a nights stay. If you chose to camp, then a quality tent (waterproof if the weather is likely to rain), bed, sleeping bag and pillow are highly necessary. Adventure travel often includes a night’s stay somewhere, which adds to the fun and enjoyment.

Adventure travel is always fun, as it usually is a separate adventure within itself. Whether it’s getting in a small plane to fly 15 km to another area, or getting in a small boat to go for a snorkel, each experience can be individual and a totally unique adventure travel. Get out there and have some fun; do a bit of research and read reviews, so you know find out what a good adventure travel is and what isn’t.
