Auto Racing

Auto Racing includes basically any form of racing that is done in a vehicle with a motor! This includes Car Racing, Lawn Mower Racing, Monster Trucks, Drag Racing, Kart Racing, Motorcycle Racing, Motocross, Drifting and a huge variety of other activities. Auto Racing has changed significantly over the last few decades with new technology being more and more common in the cars and other vehicles that are driven today. A few decades ago having a car which could start itself was amazing, let alone one that would automatically change the gears and use minimal fuel consumption. The huge engines today have technology which enables them to be extremely fuel efficient if they are driven accordingly. Of course, if they are worked hard they will drink the fuel as normal. The reason they are so economical is because they don’t have to work very hard to power a car. Fitting a car or vehicle with a big, new engine means it just has to idle along even at high speeds. Of course, this means the engine isn’t worked very hard and therefore doesn’t use much fuel. It also means that the engines last for longer.

Racing on the other hand involves pushing vehicles to the maximum. Small engines that are small are pushed to their limit, as well as the larger engines which huge amounts of torque and horsepower. Racing is fun regardless of what you are doing it in, which explains why so many new sports are created each year. Car Racing and motorcycles has been around for a long time, but the idea of racing cars on ice or racing lawn mowers is something which hasn’t been around for that long. People just come up with ideas that seem possible and entertaining and then it becomes a full on sport.

One of the best times I have had is using a few old cars at my friend’s farm. They had several cars worth under a hundred dollars each and we would race each other, see how long we could skid for, do doughnuts and plough through mud. It is fun that can be had for very little amount of money, and when something does break you can learn to fix it very well. This is helpful for when you actually get a license, and knowing how to handle a car when its slippery or wet is a skill which many people lack today. Auto Racing can be very competitive, and there is a massive amount of money involved in sponsorships and the vehicles that are used. If you want something fun to do, try Drag Racing or Kart Racing!
