Boating

Boating is another activity which I enjoy often. There are so many different types of boating, which makes it great fun. You can choose to develop in the individual type of boating which you enjoy most. Personally, I like fishing and skiing, but I loved going jet boating and would highly recommend it. Boating opens up so many more activities, such as fishing, snorkeling, diving, skiing, wakeboarding, touring and cruising.

Boating is usually done with a motor on the back, but if there is no motor then it is usually known as sailing. This is another form of boating, but it is powered by multiple sails, and the wind. This is a great form of boating, because it requires no money to pay for the boat to move. There are many different types of boats, all built for different types of boating.

Boating for wakeboarding is usually done in heavy, long and wider boats which have inboard motors and sit deep in the water. These are designed for maximum wake, and are usually very expensive. Boating can be a very expensive activity, but it’s still very possible to have a lot of fun with a cheap boat. Fishing boats are designed to handle rough seas, and usually don’t work very well to go skiing. Different types of boating are aimed at various niches.

I remember as kids, my very first boating experience. My brothers and I collected multiple plastic containers, and joined them together with planks of wood. We even made our own diving board, and we got bits of bamboo to use as poles to push the raft around. Fair enough, it wasn’t the fastest boating experience, but as kids we thought it was awesome. Boating since then has improved, and my dad purchased a 14 foot ‘tinny’.  Now, it has a 35 horse power engine which is extremely old, but it has never let us down. Our boating experience is limited to the reliability of the motor, other safety features and ability to go out far into the ocean.

I have friends who have big wakeboarding boats, and this form of boating is truly amazing. It is incredible fun to sit in a boat which is hugely powerful, and even more fun than this form of boating is to be standing up on the water behind the boat. Boating is fun from all aspects, and is well worth the money. To start off with, many people will go and buy an aluminum boat, which is small and can be used for the basics of skiing and fishing. From this, you then develop the niche which you are most interested in.

Boating is a huge industry, and the amount and types of boats which are available for the type of boating that you enjoy. To start off, you can hire a boat and go out for the day. If you enjoy it, then you can continue the boating career. I know quite a lot of people who have nicer boat than they do car, which just explains how much fun boating can really be.

I am torn between fishing and skiing as a form of boating, so I just do both whenever I can. If you have never been out boating, get out there and check it out. It’s not hard to have fun, and its well worth the money.
