Car Racing
Car Racing is done in many different categories, ranging from Monster Truck car crushing, Monster Truck racing, Wheel stand Competitions, Ice Racing, Touring Racing, Dirt Racing, Demolition Derby and a huge range of other hobbies which thousands of people enjoy worldwide. The thrill of driving a car at fast speeds, or controlling the way that a car maneuvers in between quick and tight corners can be extremely exhilarating, which explains why so many people choose to participate in Car Racing every year.
Drifting is a type of racing which involves sliding a car around corners, in a drift. This is a sport which is done in rear drive cars, and can be quite costly when replacing tires very regularly. It is done by many people throughout the world in special arenas which have racetracks designed to maximize the length and quality of a drift. The longer that the drift goes for, the higher points a competitor will score, and then the more chance that they have of winning the competition.
Demolition Derby is a form of racing which involves a lot of damage to other cars. Generally, cars that are damaged and very cheap are used to ram into other cars. Different rules may apply, depending on where the event is held, but generally the last man standing wins the competition. Cars often light up on fire because of the fuel and heat that is combined in accidents. The cars are usually thrashed to perform as best as they can, and are not overly valued by the owners!
Other Car Racing includes Drag Racing, which is usually a straight track that is a quarter mile long. The aim is to get from one end of the track to the other in a straight line as fast as you can. This is done by cars that are quite often powered by ethanol, which burns much hotter and allows for immense power. Many people go to Drag Racing with their own cars, as long as they are allowed to be raced. There are a lot of rules which stop different vehicles from competing if they are not safe or don’t follow the guidelines correctly.
When racing cars, speed is often a factor which can be very dangerous. If a collision occurs, or a car hits a bit of oil, they can be sliding in no time, which usually ends up in the vehicle being rolled. Most cars designed to race are fitted with full roll cages, and the driver has to where harnesses and helmets, to ensure that if something does go wrong their chances of survival are maximized. This is a sport which is truly great fun, and it can be done very cheaply on a friend’s farm if they have some older cars and a bit of space!
