Go Karting

Go Karting is done in small vehicles known as karts. They have four wheels, and are usually very low to the ground. Some are designed to be run on flat, hard surfaces whilst others may have more clearance for driving on gravel or other outdoor surfaces. Regardless of whether you do it indoors or outdoors, it’s a huge amount of fun. The only problem is the cost associated with Go Karting. In order to pay for insurance policies, repairs on motors and the employers that have to run a center, it’s quite costly to drive these little beasts, but well and truly worth the fun. The more people that you go with the better time you will have, and the more time you spend on the track the less you will have to pay per minute. Be aware that they will literally charge you for every minute you spend driving!

These Karts basically involve a high power to weight ratio. What this means is that the engine used is quite powerful given the karts don’t weigh very much. In comparison to a car engine, they are tiny, but when pushing along something that barely weighs a few hundred pounds, they well and truly move along. The karts that are used indoors will have slick tires to provide maximum grip, whilst the ones that are driven on gravel and other surfaces tend to be a bit more aggressive, to dig into the gravel instead of sliding along. Most karts are rear wheel drive, meaning if you go around a corner too quickly with the gas on, it will slide and create a situation which is potentially dangerous. They are just as much fun as visiting a Theme Park.

Most Go Karting available for the public is done on karts that are reasonably powerful, but safe enough to not cause much damage. The breaks and engines are maintained well, because if an accident does occur there can be big trouble. Once you have proven yourself capable of driving a certain power kart, then often you will be able to upgrade to one which is more powerful. This may go on for several karts, until you are able to drive the most powerful kart available. Some of the karts will go very quickly, and it’s vital to be driving them sensibly and according to your skill level. It’s so easy to have an accident, and when you are going 40 miles an hour with no roll cage, it’s easy to seriously injure or even kill yourself. It’s important to be safe when enjoying indoor adventures or Outdoor Adventures.
