Ski Resorts

Ski resorts
are basically nice accommodation on the side of ski slopes, designed mainly for those who spend their time skiing, or snowboarding. Ski resorts are also home to many people who don’t do this, and just enjoy the view, peace and time out from the rest of the world. Ski resorts are hugely popular, and are often pre booked months ahead. Ski resorts are located on most mountains which people regularly ski on. Ski resorts are usually a part of shops, cafes and very close to the chairlifts.

Ski resorts are an awesome way to double the fun and ease of your holiday. There is nothing better than finishing a day on the slopes, walking a few meters and sitting in a spa or sauna for a few hours. Ski resorts take away the need to drive back down the mountain, and to other accommodation. Ski resorts are able to hold many people, but they are usually booked out over all the busy periods – make sure you book and plan well ahead. Ski resorts also go by the star rating, and some are total luxury while others are not top quality. In saying this, Ski resorts are also fairly expensive. You pay for the convenience of staying on the slopes.

Like any accommodation, ski resorts charge more for better views; if you want to overlook a nice view, then be prepared to pay more again. The cost of staying at ski resorts can be justified when you consider how long it can take you to drive home. They are really just a luxury, non necessary, but highly enjoyable. Ski resorts are often equipped with spas and saunas, drying rooms and more, so be sure to ask for access to these if you need them. Drying rooms are great for drying your wet skiing gear during the night.

When choosing ski resorts to stay at, you should be mindful of all of the conditions which are set upon you staying there. You may be required to eat at the café multiple times, or purchase wine; read the fine print carefully and you will avoid extra costs. Also find out what is provided; bedding, food, towels and anything else you might need. Transport around the ski resorts is not really needed, but ensure that you have a way to get to the bottom of the mountain and home when you want to leave! Buses are often found driving up the slopes, and some slopes have lifts going all the way to the bottom.

An alternative to staying at ski resorts is to hire a private house. This may also be expensive, but it will be more provide, and you can do what you want without worrying about others. In saying this, you have less access to chairlifts, food and other things from the shop, as well as medical attention and you are more likely to have an extended holiday in a private house if there is bad weather.

Ski resorts are designed to make your holiday much easier, and they are well and truly worth their money. Make sure you look around and book good ski resorts – sometimes finding a travel package is well worth the time. Ski resorts often have specials, and they are much cheaper if you book a long time ahead, so start planning!
